Geraldine Genovesi, age 88, of Templeton Ave., Hempfield Twp., Greenville, passed away Tuesday evening, May 22, 2018 in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
She was born in New Castle, PA on August 28, 1929 to Michael and Rose (Tantillo) Catalano. Gerry was a 1948 graduate of Meadville High School and was a Homemaker.
As an active member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville, she served as a volunteer in the Rectory the past twenty years, had served as the chairperson of Young at Heart and was previously active with CCD and the St. Michael School Booster Club.
She had also been a volunteer at the Good Shepherd Center and had been the past president of Hempfield V.F.D, Auxiliary for fifteen years.

The family will receive friends following the mass in
The Gathering Space of the church and also invite all
those in attendance of the mass to join with them for a
funeral dinner at the Knights of Columbus .
Burial with committal prayers will be private in St. Michael Cemetery, Greenville.
Gerry was an avid bowler and enjoyed painting and playing bingo. She also loved spending time with her family.
On May 1, 1954 she married John P. Genovesi, he survives at home. Also surviving are three sons; Samuel P. Genovesi and his wife Melissa of Greenville, John A. Genovesi and his wife Lynn and Matthew M. Genovesi and his wife Cara, all of Austin, TX and ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son; Michael P. Genovesi and three sisters; Anne Leidy, Rosalyn Thomas and Sylvia Mesarch.
