Jack E. Stoyer, age 77, of S. Mercer St., Greenville, passed away Monday morning, December 3, 2018 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born in Greenville on August 13, 1941 to Vern A. and Ethel M. (White) Stoyer. Jack attended Greenville schools, worked for fifteen years as a Machine Operator at the former Chicago Bridge and Iron Co. and for the past fifteen years, he was employed as the Manager of the Washington Manor.
Jack was a past member of Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ, Greenville. Jacked loved to fish and do carpentry work and was always the “Jokester”.
He is survived by a brother; Ronald Stoyer and his wife Mona of Greenville as well as his friend in whom he helped raise; Alex Lewis of Greenville and Alex's mother; Stephanie Lewis of Florida.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife; the former Mary Macdonald and two brothers; Edward “Bud” Stoyer and Jerry Stoyer.
Per Jack's wishes, cremation was chosen and there will be no services. Arrangements entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-268 S. Main St., Greenville.
I feel bad that jack passed away. He was a very good friend to me. I have cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Jack was so nice to me when I would come by on my wheelchair. He would always say hi. He let me borrow a fishing pole of his cause I. didn’t have one that worked. I hope his soal rest I’m peace and he is in heaven. My condolences to his family and friends who have suffered his loss. Alex is a very nice person. I’m glad jack had friends like Alex and frank to talk to. I will miss jack and he was a good influence on me. God bless jack in heaven.

Alex, Just want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time of sadness. I knew exactly how much he loved you, Alex. Was so sad to hear about Jack passing away. He truly was a remarkable guy with a huge heart. May he finally be in eternal peace now and without pain.

I’ve known Jack about 15 years from when my father, Tom senior, brought him on as the building manager of the Washington Manor. He was always conscientious in his duties in looking after the building and helping the residents of the Manor, especially the older ones who needed occasional assistance. He was friendly, humble and caring; an all round good man. This world could use more like him these days. My condolences to his family and to all those who were close to him.
