I was so sorry to hear Joyce had died. She and Jack were wonderful neighbors. I remember going to their wedding with my parents when I was six. I hope you will be comforted by the Holy Spirit, knowing that she is no longer sick, but with our Father in heaven and with your father. They are probably giving pony rides to the children.

    Rhonda and Robin,
We enjoyed visiting with your mother this summer at St. Pauls’s. She was always so friendly over the years when one of us would run into her out and about. I hope our little rescue Gus brought her some joy. Our sincere and deepest sympathy.

Rhonda and Robin : Years ago, I took a women’s history class and one of the assignments was to choose a woman I admired and write about her history. I was so often reminded of that assignment last year when I had the privilege to spend time with your mom. I knew Joyce first through my mom but came to really appreciate her during the time we spent together. She had such of gift for telling her life stories, a lot of them funny, a lot of them familiar everyday stories, and some of them hard stories. They were always told with a bright , insightful perspective on living. She and my mom both had that women’s remarkable tenacity which held them together. And while occasionally challenging for family , that tenacity was an integral part of their strength and their beauty. Thank you for sharing your mom with me. I will miss her.

To Joyce’s daughters/ , we just learned of Joyce’s passing on Thanksgiving while visiting with our Mom, Joyce’s friend, Dorothy, at St. Paul’s. My husband and I met Joyce and got the opportunity to visit with her a few times during “supper” dining at St. Paul’s. Joyce made an impact on us as she was so full of joy and energy and compassion. And, she was really funny. She was a precious and good friend to our Mom and we really appreciate her for that. Praying for God’s peace to you, your Mom was a very special person.

    Dear Rhonda and Robin,

I learned about your mother just yesterday when Orrin called me about some of his own news. I was sorry so to hear passing of her passing. It was always a joy to visit with your Mom and Dad whenever Orrin and I “came home” to Jamestown. My last memory is of lunch with her and Jack in that little diner on the west edge of Jamestown when Neva was already living at the Methodist home. It had been years since I had seen them and it was such fun to catch up.
    I remember her so fondly.
