Thomas Paul Liszka passed from this world to our heavenly home early on Thursday, March 28, 2019.

He was born on April 9, 1934, to George and Zofia (Wojnarowski) Liszka in Jamestown, PA.  He married Anne Marie Bassick on January 4, 1958.  Thomas was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.  His love of the Lord and joy of life was an example to his family and all who knew him.

Thomas was active at St. Michael Parish, serving on Parish Council, and as a leader of the Charismatic Prayer group, served on the Diocesan Charismatic Renewal Committee.  Thomas served in the U.S. Army for 2 years stationed in Hawaii, and continued in the Army Reserves until 1963.

He retired from Chicago Bridge and Iron after 26 years of service as a foreman.  Thomas took great pride in his orchard and gardens, which provided lots of jobs and adventures for his children.

He leaves his loving wife, Anne, three daughters: Lisa (Charles), Lori (Kenneth), Paula (Edward), and four sons: Thomas (Mary), Todd (Anne), Richard, and Scott. “Boompa” will be missed by 14 grandchildren: Julie, Melissa, Ryan, Joshua, Jessica, John, Nathan, Zachary, Madison, Anne, Daniel, Matthew, Mary, Melina, and 9 great-grandchildren: RJ, Braydon, Lauren, Brady, Braeden, Jackson, Avonlea, Austen, and Finley. His sister Harriet, and brothers Leo (Clara) and Frank (Nancy) also survive him.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, siblings John, Joseph, Rose, and Stefi, and a great-grandaughter, Alaina.

Thomas will be greatly missed by his family but they know he is in heaven, praying for them!

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 85 N. High St., Greenville, PA 16125.

    Anne & Family,

I am sorry to hear about the loss of Tom. Some of my fondest memories were made at your house and in Greenville during the many weekends I spent there with my parents when I was a child. I will never forget the countless hours playing at the playground in your woods and at the creek at Anne’s parent’s house. In fact, Anne, your dad was the main driving force that lead me to become an avid gardener. I remember him teaching me how to save seeds and always sending me home with something to plant! When I told my siblings about Tom’s passing, my comment to them was that Tom and the entire Liszka family are the very nicest people I have ever met in my entire life, and they agreed. In addition, I could not have asked for any nicer God parents! Although Tom has passed, I’m sure he is now in a better place and we shall see him again some day. I love you all very much and I will stay in touch.
